Olympic Marathon Beijing
The Beijing Olympic Committee has decided the Olympic marathons will commence from Tiananmen Square, though the actual route through the city has yet to be finalized.

Stefano Baldini, an Italian, won the 2004 Athens Olympic men's marathon in a time of 2:10:55; Mizuki Noguchi from Japan won the women's race in a time of 2:26:20.
