Kyrgyzstan has unbelievable mountain scenery, friendly, hospitable people, cheap accommodation, terrible roads, huge kebabs and not a sign of a McDonalds or Starbucks anywhere.

Kyrgyzstan Information
Kyrgyzstan gained independence from the Soviet Union in 1991 along with the other four Central Asian Republics: Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
Kyrgyzstan has a population of over 5 million people with its capital at Bishkek. The economy is mainly based on agriculture with tobacco and cotton the two main exports. Overall the country remains poor with GDP per capital estimated at 2,000 USD per capita and with a 20% unemployment rate.
