Hong Kong Institute of Education 香港教育学院
The Hong Kong Institute of Education is one of the premier educational establishments in Hong Kong.
Offering courses for students wishing to become teachers, as well as in-service training, HKIE was founded in 1994 from an amalgamation of the previous teacher training colleges in Hong Kong. The history of teacher education in Hong Kong goes back to the 1850s and the founding of St. Paul’s College in the-then British colony.
HKIE has over 400 teaching staff and around 7,000 students. HKIE's main campus is situated in Tai Po with other smaller campuses being the Town Centre at Tai Kok Tsui and the Sports Centre at Pak Shek Kok.
